enigma breeding Q's

Hi, I've been reading about Raptor enigma's (nova I think?) and also Mack snow enigma's. Am I right in thinking that the enigma has to be het for the morph you're breeding to? eg: raptor x enigma het raptor and super mack snow x enigma het mack snow.

If I also understand correctly, from any enigma pairings you get 50% normals (or whatever was bred) and 50% enigma? So then would the enigma's that hatch be a het and then breed them back next season to achieve the above? Or have I got that all wrong lol

Thanks

You seem to have most of it right. To get a Nova, you either need to breed a enigma, het raptor to a raptor. Or really the geckos just have to carry the genes needed to be a raptor. So tremper albino eclipse and enigma are the genes you need. Then for a mack enigma, there is no het for mack snow. It is co-dom, so it is a visual het. So if you breed a mack to an enigma, you will get 25% mack enigma, breed a super snow to a enigma, het 50% mack enigma.

Hope that makes some sense.

Thanks for that, yes it did make sense, I think lol On the last bit *breed a super snow to a enigma, het 50% mack enigma* do you mean I would get a normal 50% het mack enigma or a 50% chance to hatch a mack enigma?

Also, if the enigma wasn't het raptor, so it would be raptor x enigma pairing, would the enigma offspring be het raptor?
