Haha yeah I tried to get a pic of her doing that. And no I don't know her parents, she's a petco gecko.

Is it possible that she just hasn't gotten her adult pattern yet? Cuz she is relatively young

Those are my two enigmas... Both male.. I beleive they are both Snoglow Enigmas.... They have a very different type of marking than usual, and their tails are this really intense cotton candy sort of pink under the white, instead of just plain old white.

Nah, she actually has her "adult pattern" from what I can tell. The banding on the body may fade a little more, she may get a little more orange overall and certainly more orange will fill in on her tail. But her pattern is very very "normal" as far as a SHTCT(B) goes. Some babies just derp a lot and grow out of it; whereas enigmas with the syndrome are predictably derpy throughout life.

I do enjoy it a lot actually. It's so funny to watch how many times she tries to pounce on a cricket from a good three feet away and land just a couple inches from where she jumped, with an expression of "What the eff? Haxx!"

I agree with alot that justindh1 is saying earlia on in the thread. Their lovely animals but theres always that problem lurking in the dark, regardless, there's enigma mixing cropping up almost everywhere now. Makes me wonder if it's really that common? I personally wouldn't like to chance ES but maybe once there's a better understanding, who knows :)

alot of people are put off by the ES issues- in reality, they are not nearly bad enough to not love the animal. i agree that breeding enigmas should be limited until something can be done to help them, but care is easy and worth it for the personality.
another way to tell if you have an enigma, is that the older it gets, the more the spots disperse into speckling- they look a little dirty :D
here is a pic of my girl- she is healthy and fat and energetic- she only shows the syndrome under extreem stress, and is easy to help her over come by putting her somewhere snug and dark so she can "sleep it off" .

She's pritty funky lol

apart from the feeding problems you mention, does Nebula or enigmas in general "suffer" from the condition. I mean like quality of life.

no, as long as you keep thier environment as stress free as possible, they are more amiable than other geckos. mine loves to explore the house and climbs up to my sholder- and she will let me know when she wants to go back to her tank or not. she enjoys the hunt of crickets and is very, very prissy to her housing conditions.
there are extreem cases however that are very sad- thats why research is being done to help understand better how to help them. if you want an idea of how bad it can get, go to youtube- not only will you see the syndrome in its full form, but if you pay attention, you can see WHY they are stressing out ( conditions they are put in)
the thing to remember is that they do not suffer from ES constantly- it is only durring stress and certain points in life that change is introduced ( breeding, new home, etc) and with proper care, these symptoms can leave fairly quickly.
