I think that my new little DB Epic may lose a toe He shed yesterday morning and by night I noticed a reddish, swollen toe on his right front foot. It's also somewhat bent at a weird angle and he appears to be favoring it. I soaked his feet in a little container last night using warm water for about 20 minutes each time and tried massaging it with a q-tip like I've done with Toon in the past. I just checked on him this morning and it pretty much looks the same, no better, no worse.
I think I'll soak him a couple times today to see if it helps. It is especially traumatic, mostly for me, because he screeches and hisses and lunges at me the whole time. I thought for sure he'd be pissed and hide all the rest of the night but as soon as I put him back in his tank he started chasing mealies and noming them up!
I feel pretty sick over the whole thing. My poor little guy. I've read on here to keep trying soaks, and I've seen people mention mineral oil. Anyone else have any other suggestions? Should I take him to a vet?
