Epic's epic problem

I think that my new little DB Epic may lose a toe :( He shed yesterday morning and by night I noticed a reddish, swollen toe on his right front foot. It's also somewhat bent at a weird angle and he appears to be favoring it. I soaked his feet in a little container last night using warm water for about 20 minutes each time and tried massaging it with a q-tip like I've done with Toon in the past. I just checked on him this morning and it pretty much looks the same, no better, no worse.

I think I'll soak him a couple times today to see if it helps. It is especially traumatic, mostly for me, because he screeches and hisses and lunges at me the whole time. I thought for sure he'd be pissed and hide all the rest of the night but as soon as I put him back in his tank he started chasing mealies and noming them up!

I feel pretty sick over the whole thing. My poor little guy. I've read on here to keep trying soaks, and I've seen people mention mineral oil. Anyone else have any other suggestions? Should I take him to a vet?

Honestly, the best thing to do is just keep soaking until the stuck shed loosens up. It can be really difficult with a squirmy gecko but you might have to use a pair of tweezers to very carefully grab the skin once it's softened all the way through.

How long should I soak him for each time? I can try to use some tweezers but his toes are so tiny that I can barely see them as it is. In a perfect world he'd hold still so I can use a magnifying glass. LOL!

I was able to save Toon's toes both times that it happened and I credit it mostly to her being so cooperative.
