So my son buys a Gecko and we have it for a year and it escapes. We look for for weeks hoping it will turn up. A month passes I suspect that it was killed and eaten by the dog or crawled into the wall and died. so last night, 14 months later, I pull into my driveway and I see a "lizard" dodge under our garbage can as the light from my headlights cross over him. As we get closer to investigate the"lizard" runs into the woods. We corral it and my son scoops it up. As he opens his hands we make a shocking discovery, it's his lost gecko! How did it get outside? How did it get by Max? How did this thing survive a winter in Connecticut? He looks great too, he grew some and his tail is much fatter. Craziness!

2years is a long time, must be some kind of record! I think the most shocking thing in my case is that he was found outside. Still can't believe it. The post above has a picture of him.

Hello, I live in Connecticut too ^^
The fact that he survived the winter is incredibly impressive! This little guy is quite the trooper.
Guess you'll be making sure he doesn't escape again!

A week into owning my first leopard gecko, she climbed out using the cord of the thermometer!
We were frantically looking for her and found her a few hours later in a box in my closet. Needless to say we made sure to always put the lid back on the tank after that!
