Escaped mealworm

While feeding my leo earlier, one of the mealworms went through a tiny crack between the tiles and into the sand underneath the tiles. I would have to remove everything to find it. Is it ok to just leave it? I left a piece of carrot in there so maybe it'll go for the carrot. Thanks

Just leave it. Eventually you will either have a dead mealworm, which will dry up, or an escaped beetle which may climb back out and you'll see it in the cage.

whenever i clean my tank, i am bound to find a few mealies under the cage carpet. It's no big deal.

heh, it takes NO time for our mealies to escape out of the food dish.
I stand there with the tweezers and pick them back up.
After a while, that gets old, though, so I let them go. They usually die or get eaten.
