Anyone ever use or have any exp with this thermostat? Our friend is getting rid of some of his stuff and I'm wanting to know if it's an ok thermostat or not. Like would you trust it with heat pads/heat tape/incubator? Thanks.

I will say that I have used them for quite some time and had no problems, now it does not keep the heat at exactly 90, more like 91-92 but I figure they are not at a constant temp in the wild anyway. They are an on/off type so the heat is not as steady as you get with a higher cost proportional thermostat.

Some people have had them crap out immediately from what Ive read on some reviews.

I think you either get a good one or a bad one and I guess I have been lucky and gotten all good ones.

I got one about a month ago and I love it. I highly recommend it, but I have also heard complaints. Just keep a close eye and I'm sure you will be fine. Just in case you didn't know... the ESU and Alife are exactly the same.

I use the alife ones that Scott & Nikki mentioned on my racks and have not had any real problems other then fluctuations but nothing big it stays around 87-90 when set at 90. I would not recomend them for incubators though.
