Hi,

not sure if this should go here or in breeding.

I'm just staring to breed my geckos and have found lots of conflicting information about housing hatchlings and juveniles prior to selling them. I already have a buyer once my geckos are 4 -5 months old. I'm wondering if these are suitable for housing hatchlings and young juveniles. Any one had any experience with them?

I've read a lot about using RUB boxes but I'd prefer to buy something with ventilation already built in. Cost isn't so much of an issue but the space I have available is. I have an alcove big enough for a couple of these per shelf (there is room for plenty), or something bigger if necessary.

Thanks

Sy

Breeding boxes are fine. They need to be at least the size of a 6qt tub (my tubs are labeled as 13 5/8" x 8 1/4" x 4/7/8" or 34.6cm x 21 cm. x 12.4 cm). Since they're plastic, you will need a thermostat with the UTH so they don't get too hot and melt. I keep most of my hatchlings in 36"x12" front-opening glass cages on shelves. Each cage is divided into 3 sections and each section houses 1-2 hatchlings, so I can keep up to 6 in each cage.
