About your leo:
- Male
- 7 years old
- I have owned him for 2 years
- Acquired from pet store

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now.
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe.

B) Fecals
- They do look normal
- I do not know the last time he passed feces, there are only a few old ones in the vivarium which leads me to fear intestinal impaction

C) Problem
- Extremely lethargic, does not move much, shallow breathing, sleeps excessively, only responds if actually touched. Has been going on for a few weeks.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- 24 x 18 x 18
- Glass with metal ventilation on the top half
- Ground walnut substrate
- Three hides, underneath a piece of cork, behind a desert plant, and behind a rock pile

B) Heating
- Infrared heat lamp
- Cage temps (High 20s hot side, medium/low 20s cool side, variable on both sides)
- A piece of cork to hide under and some shade behind the rocks
- Thermometer
- Infrared heat lamp

C) Cage mates
- Solitary

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- Crickets, usually 6-10 at a time
- They have the run of the viv

B) Supplements (describe how often)
- ExoTerra Calcium D3

I know this is frustratingly little to go on, but he just doesn't seem right. It has been happening for a few weeks and now seems to be getting worse.

There is so much wrong. Never use any lose substrate for leopard geckos.
His temps should be 75f on cold side- 90-95 in hot side. He should have a UTH for belly heat. You should have plain calcium and calcium with D. Don't use vitD every day and you need a vitamin and mineral supplement. He needs to see a vet like today. you should keep track of everytime he poops and throw it out quickly.
He might be impacted becasue you used ground walnut. If you don't take him to the vet quick he will die.

I can't. My parents won't let me because it's "too expensive". I know exactly where to take him, but they think he's just "hibernating". I'm going to get them to read your post.

Please parents take him to the vet quickly.
Extremely lethargic, does not move much, shallow breathing,
Those are very serious signs.

Shallow breathing is one of the worst symptoms a gecko can have.

Well he does seem to be improving actually. He's mow up on the wall, and he seems to have eaten. I'll try to get him to the vet, but my parents are extremely stubborn.

It would be irresponsible for anyone other than a reptile vet to assume he is well if he has been under these conditions for 2 years.
I highly suggest you spend time reading through this forum to learn all their needs. Make sure you make all the adjustments necessary.
If you cannot afford to pay for a vet visit and all their requirements it would be in the geckos best interest to be rehomed to someone responsible.

I really want to do this, but my parents won't let me do ANYTHING at all. Even when i suggested we send him to a new home they said 'no, he is fine'.
I'm now considering selling him to someone who can take him to the vet.

Parents, they suck. Its a fact. I would deffinetly rehome. Atleast your trying to find him a new home(even if they fix it now any future issues will be met with the same stubborness thus its just better he can get to home where his needs wont be questioned). Many times the younger kids on here will simply refuse our advice and ignore it until the animal dies, Your situation is a rough one, deffinetly keep looking.

Put him up for adoption instead. make an ad on the adoption section, maybe someone in ur area will take him.

chances are they bought him the gecko and supplies...so I doubt they will just give it away. That is probably why they said no to giving him away...and as result forced to sell the leo.

Its good to see you would want to rehome, in the mean time make sure you make the adjustments that were in need when someone corrected your husbandry and after that...good luck!.
