Eye closed???

This is my girl Garlic. She is about a year old. She was shedding on her eyes a few days ago, and now her left one won't open. Is there something in it? Should I go to my vet??

She may have a bit of shed stuck under her eyelid. Try this: get a drop of water on your finger (you can do this by dipping your finger in some cool water). Let the drop fall into her closed eye. Usually she will open it. Look for a tiny edge of shed. If you find it, you can remove it with your fingernails or a tweezer. If you don't see anything, keep doing the water thing periodically. Hopefully eventually she'll keep her eye open, or you'll see the shed. If the eye gets swollen, pussy or crusty you'll need to take her to the vet.
