Eye Color

I just purchased a Patternless Tremper Albino Mack Snow (DOB: 7-25-08) and he has bright red eyes. I was wondering whether or not his eyes would change as he ages or stay that same color? I'll post pics eventually--he just got here today and I don't want to disturb his "settling in" time. :) In the meantime, I'd appreciate any words of wisdom! Thanks!!

I would imagine that his eyes will lighten up and look more normal as he gets a bit older. It's not uncommon for Trempers incubated for male to have really red eyes as young ones. I have had a couple of non-eclipse Tremper males hatch that looked almost like they had eclipse eyes upon hatching. They eventually lightened up to normal looking albino eyes. It has something to do with the higher incubation temp.

I just got a Mack Snow Tremper Patty TSF (from Sean at VMS...is that where you little boy is from, too? ;)) and her eyes are really cool looking, but lighter. She hatched sometime the beginning of June (not sure without looking it up right now) and she was incubated at a lower temp.

Congrats on your new guy! I can't wait to see pics! I was really excited to get my little (hopefully) girl!!

Haha, yep, that is indeed where he is from. I've purchased 5 total from them so far and they've all been healthy and beautiful! I'm a bit disappointed about the eyes. :( But then again, I guess I would have heard about this morph having bright red eyes before now if they did stay that color. :main_robin: Well, thanks for the input, and good luck with your girl!

Congrats! Just wait til you see the eyes on the super form of TPA! those are some of the coolest eyes in leopard geckos (except for snake-eyed Nova eyes) They look virtually identical to the Super blazing eyes...except they are generally even brighter red.

Is this the way your little girl's eyes look, too, Mari?
