So I was reading about diseases a leopard gecko can have and I came across eye infection. Now I was looking at my gecko today and he keeps on licking his left eye and blinking a lot . The temp is about 93 F on the hot side. NOTE THAN I AM BABYSITTING THE LEOPARD GECKO SO THE SUBSTRATE CHOICE IS NOT MY FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!! his substrate is sand........

Sometimes they can have little pieces of shed get stuck (or some other foreign object) in their eye. It's possible that it's licking to try to remove it. Stuck shed that is not removed will eventually lead to an eye infection. You can use saline solution or water to flush out the eye. A syringe (without needle) works well for this.

So right now I check if he still has the "foreign object" in his eye. And if he still does then I should hold him in one place and use a syringe with water and flush out his eye?
