Eye Irritation

About a month ago I noticed a very small "goop" marking or scab forming in the inside corner of my geckos left eye. It was faint but I can definitely see a white substance. I took him to the vet, she did tests to see if it's infected or not, and it turns out it wasn't. I told her I remember seeing him scratch at the side of his face after he pounced on a cricket and she said that might have been what caused it, that perhaps he knicked it and it's healing (which would explain why he tended to keep it shut) I went home without any meds as she said he doesn't need any.

My concern is that he's still closing the very same eye from time to time. If he's alert and completely active he'll have both eyes open. But if he's lounging around ("daydreaming", it looks like) then he'll usually have the left eye closed while the right eye is still open.

Does anybody have any information on this? Has his eye not fully healed yet? I'm hoping he'll be fine in due time and it'll heal but I'd hate to be wrong. And I currently can't afford another vet trip (cat recently got sick as well), especially one where I get a "He's okay. Now pay us." response.

Mine had a similar problem and after about 3 weeks, he was perfectly back to normal.

The vet, as is similar to your experience, was completely useless.

I used some opthalmic ointment to help speed-up the recovery process.

Any more info on this ointment or where I could get some?

I called around the local pet stores and none of them have any ophthalmic ointment. >.<
Going to speak to the vet on the monday (they're close today) and see what they recommend.
