Eye problem

So "monster" my tang looks like he's got an eye infection. he has a small red spot on his eye lid almost like his last shed didnt go so well on his head or something...i wasn't there when he shed so im not sure. Im goind down to walmart to pick up some eye drops, the vet said salyne...or something would work. But i read that bausch and lombs drops work good too, i think.....The eye looks a little blacker around the outer edge if that makes any sence at all. I read a few posts of people having the same problem with a black like film but not sure its the same thing. Its not filmy or pussy, just looks like the right eye lid is very slightly enflamed and the actual eye ball looks like it is slightly darker... I know a vet app. is in order, but i wanted to try the not so expensive route first. His appetite is awasome and he's still eating like 10-15 mealies almost every day. He loves to eat, and seems super happy. Im hoping that i caught this early enough to save his eye. He also seems to have some trouble opening it, but once i tap the glass he opens it wide open. any info would be greatly appreciated. Id send a pic, but its almost too small to see through a camera, or atleast the one i have. Does anyone think drops if worth it, or straight to the vet to spend 100 bucks or so..??? thanks guys -Ryan

A bottle of saline solution is only a couple of dollars so definitely get some pronto. Sometimes the eye can get irritated and will get better after you wash it out. The gecko may still need to go to the vet for antibiotics if there's an infection. Do saline flushes several times a day through the weekend and schedule a vet appointment first thing Monday if it hasn't healed on it's own.
