Eyeball licking

Why do they do it? I saw Blossom doing it this morning after eating mealies...

Clean there eyes mate,when they have dust and stuff they lick it out,.

They can(we are talking leopard geckos right) but they also can lick, its not as common in leos since they have eyelids. Many species of gecko dont so they constantly lick to keep their eyes clean and wet.

yes, leopard gecko..... that's why i was wondering, i've seen her sleeping and it looks like her eyes are closed, that's me guessing that she has eyelids , so why lick instead of blink?
i had just fed her some mealies and maybe they were thrashing around enough to pop her in the eye a bit....
