I had an early wake up today...to the chime of a hit and run. I'm so annoyed right now. My mirror is dangling all busted up, and I found some scuffs and dings as well. I'll have to look closer later today because my car is covered in frost right now. I'm almost positive this had to have been someone in this neighborhood leaving for work this morning. I'll have to walk around the block this evening and see what I find. Hopefully I can find the idiot that did this and have them pay for it. I'm already envisioning them being jerks about it, since they didn't have the decency to come knock on the door or leave a note. If that's the case and they're going to be jerks about it, it's going to take every ounce in me to not go ballistic on their car. I cannot stand people like this. Own up to your screw-ups and take care of it the right way. I'm sure they wouldn't like this happening to them. Ugh!

Yeah I have collision. I'm sure it's going to be more than $500 to repair everything, so I'll be paying the $500 deductible. Hopefully I can figure out who did this.

I'm sorry, Ryan! What a way to wake up!!

Last year, my neighbor bent down to pick up a dropped cell phone while driving and ended up taking out an entire row of our bushes - that had just gotten tall enough to block the road. I was sitting at the computer (surprise) and saw the whole thing out the window. My yard is down below the road - she very nearly ended up upside down in my vegetable garden. Anyway, she stopped for a moment and then kept going. I really couldn't believe it! Turns out, she was already late taking one of her kids to the dentist and she stopped by to fess up later that day - and she had the bushes replaced (although they still aren't big enough to block the road). Perhaps your neighbor just had to get to work - or didn't want to wake you up in case the crash didn't and will contact you later. Let's hope so!

I hope so Nancy. We live in a nice little neighborhood a stone-throw away from a school. I can't imagine anyone doing something like this, so hopefully they will fess up or we'll find the car.

Also, I just got back from the body shop...$984.10 estimate...just great :main_no:

Wow that sucks!

Even if you don't find who did it, I always stick to this what goes around comes around! Full Circle!!

I want to know how fast they had to be flying down your street to get chunks of your car that far in front of it! If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I'd be at your house at 7am to watch every single car that goes by. I'm sorry, I know how much that sucks.

That sucks! I say bring a Louisville Slugger with you on your hunt for the perp. An eye for an eye a mirror for a mirror...

Seriously though, hopefully you can get him/her to at least cover the deductable if not the whole thing. Without a civil pursuit, by the way.

Everyone can have an accident... But what unforgivable is that the person who made that didn't drop by to tell you that it was his fault. That really sucks!

I remember that some years ago a classmate of mine was run over by a car. The woman at the wheel was coming out from the garage and didn't look forward, I don't know what would she be loooking at... But my classmate fell on the hood when she was stricken and was being pulled along with the car, hurting her leg, and still the driver didn't notice! Then my classmate started hitting the front crystal of the car, the driver heard and stopped for a moment... And when my classmate could come down from the hood, that woman accelerated and ran away! Not even asking "Are you hurt? May I take you to the hospital?" I couldn't believe it.

You may be in a hurry, but if you run over a person, the least you can expect a bit of concern and an apology...

It was other person who had to give her a piggyback to the hospital, unforgivable.

That is ridiculous. I don't understand people sometimes.

Anyways, I was just posting to say I'm feeling better about everything. Everyone I talked to today has been insanely nice. There wasn't anyone who seemed scripted, rude or rushy, everyone genuinely felt sorry and just talked to me. The guy at the body shop was very nice as well.

I'm going to have a little steak out tomorrow morning to see if i can find anyone around the neighborhood with any damage. I can't imagine some random idiot hitting my car at 7 in the morning. It has to be someone that lives around here. The quickest way to the main road from my street is past my house. So it either is someone on my street or maybe one over. Hopefully we can find the car tomorrow and save me 500 bucks, and get them charged with hit and run.

Thanks for all of the posts. It's nice having the forum to hang out on to keep you sane while everything around you is a little insane.
