We're on Animal Planet too! :main_yes:
Check it out... Pets 101, small pets episode. You can find the TV schedule here: http://animal.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=15.14743.130247.39951.x&start=10

My wife and I are featured as part of the leopard gecko segment. We adopted a gecko out to a first grade class and the cameras followed us - pretty cute! They spent the whole day filming and interviewing, so it was interesting to see what they decided to air...

We were very clear about what information to portray in regards to proper care, etc... but they aired this other story/ footage of a leopard gecko gone missing for 6 months. It was a great story, but the footage showed the leopard gecko on sand with an overhead heat bulb. Ugh.

Anyway, it was a fun experience! Hopefully it will help the popularity of leopard geckos. :main_thumbsup:

Our geckos are officially celebrities now!

Yep - that's the one!

I don't think there is a copy of the video available online. I've asked producers to send me a copy of the DVD or file... so as soon as we get it in-hand, we can copy and post. Might be a few weeks though. I'll keep ya'll updated on that.

Actually, the entire gecko segment is more like 10 minutes or so, but Michael's part of it is about 3 minutes.

You're probably right on that one. I was surprised at how long the gecko segment was.... seemed like they tried to encompass all geckos, but ended up highlighting leos specifically. They also got a few shots of our gargoyle geckos too.

Was that your leo that they got to eat on camera? We tried to get ours to eat on demand, but none of them would do it! Ha!!

I'll have to look again to see if it's my gecko eating. I think so; it was in May so the females were pretty hungry. I'll check again when I get a chance.

Yeah the show was pretty good for the most part - it was nice to see some geckos on tv, haha.

Unfortunately, yeah they did somewhat throw all geckos into one broad classification, saying that they all require live feeders and such (which of course isn't true). I did notice the leo on sand, too. :annoyed:

I was kind of hoping they'd talk about some of the other popular geckos too, including cresties and gargs. Unfortunately they didn't, but we got to see a few shots of them. It was weird how they showed gargoyle geckos while talking about leopards too, haha.

Anyway, congrats on getting on TV! It must have been a lot of fun.
