feed young crested questions

I got a small crested gecko a few days ago. He was being fed baby food and occasionally crickets, but the girl said they rarely ate them.
I bought him CGD and baby food. I have been mixing the two together and I did the suggested "add a drop of honey" tactic. I think he ate on his own the othernight because I got up and he was by his bowl. Just now he ate some off my finger and licked the bowl when I held it near him.
I was wondering if it would be okay to pre-mix CGD with babyfood for a couple of days and store it in the fridge. It's hard to make a tiny amount for one small gecko.
I do plan on reducing the amount of baby food of course because I know it's not good for him, I just want to get him to eat. How should I progress on decreasing the amount? With each feeding or start the reduction after his first week after getting settled in?
Thanks! Pics soon!
I also have a habba mister on the way :) (I live in a dry texas climate and am at work at school too long sometimes)

I found it to be simple to mix up a small amount for a single feeding by using a 1/4 t from my measuring spoon set. They love the CGD, I wouldn't bother with the other stuff, he will eat it and not even miss the other stuff. He will be much healthier too :)

Just use the CGD. It's practically impossible to tell whether or not baby Cresteds are eating anything and all new owners are sure their new baby is starving to death! lol You'll be able to tell by seeing little poops in the tank and by the fact that it's growing.

You can mix up more than one serving at a time, and store it in the fridge. I am fairly new to the crested we have as well. One suggestion we were given by a breeder worked well for us. We only put a few drops in the bottom of the bowl. We checked the next morning, and it was all gone. The next night we put in a couple more drops than the night before. We did this until we saw some left. Then we have been giving them that amount from now until we see that it all disappears again. The only time I have ever seen them eat is when I had all the lights off watching a movie. Then they were hanging upside down licking out their bowls.
