They normly have a quick toss over whos bowls which, but yeah, two bowls would be needed to stop major fights over food. Or underfeeding for some geckos.
I have a feeder box for my little ones and as they get bigger and get used to the hunt I plunk the crickets in their tank one at a time so I can see that they catch them. Any that do not get caught and eaten I take out.
Having 2 bowls relieves the whole who's is who's problem in the long run wouldn't you think? It's not like a dog who has a set feeding station and knows that is HIS bowl. I would think with leos it would be more random, but it provides BOTH the opportunity to have their own feeding station to avoid squabbles like LGNinja said.
I really dislike feeding crickets... nasty noisy dirty lil boogers. Most leos exist find on a diet of worms... a mix between wax, butter, mealies, supers silk or phoenix... such a better nutritional rotation overall imo. Plus I think it relieves a lot of the whole parasite problem that can come along with dirty lil crix. BUT to answer your question if you plunk crix in one at a time and your leo doesn't show interest after 15 minutes I'd remove it. I know when Eros is full he walks away basically giving me the tail. If you think the leo should be hungry and hasn't eaten the crix offer a different feeder... if he refuses that too he likely isn't hungry.
ok thanks. About the feeder box right now I done it because of mealworms. As a feeders I soon stop giving crickets because I have some dubia roaches that I am waiting for them to breed. After they bred I will start feeding them to geckos
I hope they like them but I read very good comments on the roaches
