feeding during breeding

Do you feed your Leopard gecko during breeding time? I've heard just to let it eat as much as it can and then it will survive during breeding. Is this true?

First of all, you can't expect a 6 month old Leo to just survive a breeding season because you're feeding it all the time. Here are some breeding requirements that responsible breeders follow-
50 grams or more
1 year or more
Ovulating
Well, why wouldn't you feed a Leo? I say, just let it eat as much as it would want to, then take out the food. If you're thinking of breeding your Leos, I would just say ask questions, wait until they're the right age, and good luck! :main_thumbsup:

I find that the breeding females are hungrier during breeding season. They are using a lot of their bodies' resources to make the eggs and they need lots of food to replace it. I feed my geckos every other day when they are breeding, compared to every third day when it's not breeding season.

Guess its really down to individual females. As for mine, it wouldnt eat much during the breedin season. As soon as her eggs are laid, she feeds like a pig. At that point of time, i will always be delighted to see poo in her tank. haha
