Hey every one!
I was wondering if any one has ever feed hornworms to there leos, and how they reacted to it? I feed them to my dragons and they just love them. They are 68% protein, and only 20.7% fat. They have six times more protein than an egg, and nine times more protein than a rat. I feed them to my dragons the other day and they are really active now!
So if you have reptile that’s slow or just not there self I would try a horn worm!If any one is think of trying them DO NOT feed them wild ones the plants they eat are toxic to the reptile, but fine for the worm.

So if any one has feed them or are going to try them post here.
Ill be posting a picture of one latter today.

Thanks, Yall!

I have done some research on them and they are good for beardies, and they just love them. I think they should be the same for tegus. I have feed them before to my beardies and they have done fine. I feed my first one to one of my baby beardies and they are doing fine. The reason i got them again was because my male was thin, so i feed him 2 a day for 3 days and he is looking really good.

As for price they sell for about $12 a doz. .

I have fed them to leos; feed them around the size of a large silkie to an adult leo.

Actually, I'm getting 50 worms for $45 this weekend at an expo; a steal by Canadian standards :D

Still debating how many to feed versus how many to try to breed; my first attempt at breeding was so-so, I got 3 moths but none flew.. I expanded the enclosure a bit, so I may try again.. but I may not, the weather's getting cold here...

Anyways yeah, bottomline is htey'er great for leos.

Hmm, I haven't noticed too much from a behaviour standpoint, but a few have actually put on a couple of grams overnight if they ate a particularly large hornworm.
