Feeding leos veggies?

The vet my girlfriend works for said that instead of a strict insect diet, I should leave a plate of fruits and/or veggies out for them. Does anyone here do this (or heard of it)?

From my understanding, leopard geckos are insectivores and only eat insects or insect size animals. I would think, that if your gut load was good enough, you wouldn't have to bother with the fresh fruit?

you are correct leopard geckos are strictly insectivores yes they will eat a pinky if you give it to them but their main diet should consist of bugs

Some leo's will eat fruit if you offer but like you said they are insectivores and their diet should be bugs.

Some of the really sugary fruits can lead to mouth rot in leopard geckos. Not really worth the hassle in my opinion as they wouldn't really eat fruit in the wild. They will occasionally take some fruit NECTAR but I only offer that to sick leos to help keep their strength and energy up. I wouldn't offer it, leave the fruits to the fruit eating geckos.:main_thumbsup:
