Feeding my little crestie

Hey everyone. Just a quick question regarding feeding.

I've had my crestie for almost a week, she's about 6 months old and is as health as can be. I feed her the CGD (repashy mix, complete diet) and gut loaded crickets twice a week. She LOVES the crickets but does not seem to fancy the CGD as much. She eats the CGD from a q-tip and from my finger tip or from the back end of a pen (plastic part). She just does not seem to want to eat it from her food dish.

I've read that if the dish is too big to get a smaller one, some say try a 1/8" tall bottle cap (which I am currently trying out). Can they be picky about where it's placed or the type of "dish" I use for the CGD?

The "dish" is currently at the back center part of the viv (12x12x18 exo terra, natural set up). It's kind of close to her favourite hiding place but not actually at her spot (back left, hiding in the dracena plant).

Other than that she is healthy, calcium sacs are looking good, she's active. Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is very common. Mine wouldn't even eat CGD from a q-tip when he was small. They are much more interested in crickets when they're young, anyway. The best thing to do is to keep putting the CGD in the cage and keep feeding crickets. Eventually you'll start seeing CGD footprints on the walls of the cage and you'll know she's eating it.

Ah, ok. Ya she kind of likes it. But she DEFINITELY loves crickets right now. CGD she'll eat a bit off my finger and maybe a couple dips off a q-tip.

Thanks for the reply! I'll just keep putting the CGD in there for her.

I'll try her dish again, because I think it makes the viv look a little more sharp hehe.
