I know there is a big debate on this...

BUT, yeah..once every few months I'll feed my adults a live pinky. A really small one..

I feed then once every 3-4 months to my females. One small one each. I have some that like them and others that want nothing to do with them. My males are all big and healthy and they don't have the stress of laying eggs so I don't feed pinkies to them. I also heard somewhere ( can't remember where it was) that it's not good to feed pinkies to the males. I am not sure if this is true but why take the chance.

The ones that benefit from it the most are the egg laying females. During breeding season I feed mine quite a few pinkies just to help keep thier weight on. Other than for that reason it is more of a " For your own amusement type of thing."

I find that most geckos won't eat pinkies and usually the ones that do, show their enthusiasm very well. We only feed them to our laying females and depending on how she's looking weight-wise the feeding might be often or further apart. You could try it and see what your gecko thinks of it but unless it's going through something (egg laying, weight loss) there's not really any reason to feed them.

yeah on ron trempers site it says that if you feed a pinky to a male theres a chance it could cause gout...i dont really know the specifics it was just a breeder tip on his site.

I have never fed a frozen/thawed pinkie to any of my geckos, but on rare occasions I feed a tiny day-old live one. Some geckos like them, others aren't interested. I can't be in the room when they get eaten though...

I only feed them once or twice a year, and its a gamble some geckos like them some don't

Almost all of my geckos eat them, definitely all of the males devour them with a pretty healthy ferocity. Other than that they primarily are fed superworms...and I now have 1,000 B. Lateralis roaches on order from bugpros.com, only cost me $27shippped and I can easily start my own colony.

These roaches apparently have a long intestinal tract for improved gut-loading capabilities....I will report on how my geckos like them. The roaches are for the Goni's I have coming in, but I'm sure the Leo's would appreciate the delicacy!

I don't feed pinkies at all. I *might* be able to tolerate feeding the frozen ones, but certainly not live. Hi, my name is Debbie and I'm a big wuss. ;)
