Feeding.

So I got my gecko a little over a month ago. Idk what his age was but he was partly underfed and he was very badly cared for. I have since have him some TLC and I can now hold him on a daily basis. He isn't too fond of it because he's still new to it but eventually he will be use to it.
Anyways, he's been being weird with his feeding. I know they don't really eat before and after shed but he ate good yesterday but he doesn't seem much interested in food today. Like he ate 14 meal worms yesterday and only 2-3 today. I did add new decor to his tank but that was 2 days ago and he ate fine after I added them. He's went from about 4 1/4 or 4 1/2 inches to about 6 1/2 inches (measured him just tonight) and he walks went from about 6.5 grams to 18.3 grams (also just weighed him) in just a month. He seems to be growing great but Idk why he has a weird appetite. He ate fine before. It just started happening. He doesn't seem to hate the worms I feed he just seems uninterested until every other day where he is hungry and will down between 14 and sometime even 20 worms!! I am going to start him on crickets next month to switch up his diet but I can't this month. All the crickets I got for him This month ended up overheating in my car between the store and home and then died :(. I have no extra money but I did get him more worms. He's pooping fine and he isn't compacted. He's even been moving around his cage more than before. He discovered his cold/moist hide just a couple of days ago and he lays in that most the time. He does go back to his warm hide (which he use to basically live in) at least once a day. It got really hot in his warm hide one day which is why he moved but the temprature has since been dealt with but still perfers his cold hide. Sorry for all the info and long post in just trying to add everything so it'll be easier to help.

This is him tonight.

So I guess my final question is, is he ready to start eating every other day? He seems kinda young to me but he has gotten pretty big in just a month and Idk his true age. Should I just keep trying to feed everyday until he does the every other day thing for about a week and then maybe try and convert him? I don't know how this works but tbh I can't force him to eat but I just wanted another opinion.

It's more of a question of weight and preference than age. If he's eating a lot every other day, he's telling you that feeding him every other day is the way to go. I feed my geckos Tues, Thurs and Sat. The hatchlings used to get fed every day, but then I started keeping enough mealworms in the bowl so they still had some on the days I don't feed.
