Female Leo pregnant or overweight?

Hey folks,

So I just picked up a Leo pair today, male and female. I got them off a craigslist ad from a guy who knew very little about them (which is why he was selling them). Upon arriving and actually seeing the two, I realized that the female was very bloated around her mid section. The guy was feeding the two a diet of exclusively Zilla mealworm munchies (basically dead mealworms with added vitamins in them), scattered about the cage so the pair could just eat them whenever.

Now because it is a male and female pair, I'm not sure if the female is pregnant or simply overweight from being able to eat whenever she wanted. The male seems to have a little bit of extra fat, but nowhere near that of the female.

Could somebody check out these pictures of her and let me know what's going on?

Many thanks!

It could be possible that she is ovulating. What kind of substrate were they on? Just to rule out possible impaction or not.

I would make her a lay box just in case it could be ovlation. Welcome to GF by the way :)

Impaction was the first thing I thought of, but they were on some kind of felt mat so that's not that issue.

And thanks!

She certainly looks very rotund! Difficult for me to say whether she may also have eggs in there with all that fat... :) Perhaps a more practiced eye can see something.

If you haven't separated them yet, I would do so soon to try to avoid unwanted eggs.

So I've been poking around the web looking for overweight leo care and I'm seeing most of the overweight leo's have large tails too. Whereas my Lilah just has a chubby mid section and a normal looking tail. I still can't tell if she has eggs brewing up in her belly. Is it possible that she could be egg bound? What are the symptoms of an egg bound leo?
