how can you tell if the eggs are fertile with out candleing them?

Usually infertile eggs will start to cave in, mold, or turn yellow by the first few weeks of incubation. Some infertile eggs can last a while though, even into the 2nd month. Fertile eggs will just look normal and get a tiny bit fatter.

like said befor, it will cave-in not too long after laid. And fertile eggs have stronger shells. The only way to know for sure is to candle. you don't have to move them. when i candle, i just put a light up to them with out taking them out of the vermiculite.
