Few Questions

Dear Users

My leopard gecko, Hope is amazing but I'm a little concerned. For one I will put a cricket or mealworm close to her face but she will not eat it. Two I don't see her eat maybe she eats at night but every day I see the same cricket in her terrarium. I'm not sure if it's because she is an adult gecko and doesn't eat as much or she has a problem.

Question 2: I'm not sure but is my gecko big for her age? I will put a picture up but not right now

final question 3: What breed is she?

ps: just getting back into these forums, sorry if it is posted into the wrong spot.

Yes, it is posted in the wrong spot, but I'm moving it. Check next time that you're in the right sub forum. Many female leopard geckos don't eat much now because they're ovulating. Keep offering. Your gecko looks big and healthy from the pictures I can see.

Thanks Aliza that's great to know. I have one more question about supplements. I got the calcium without D3 (I feel like a more natural calcium will be good for her). But it says that it needs natural night or don't feed it to them is this something to worry about? And should I get the calcium with D3?

Leopard geckos need vitamin D3 to help the plain calcium be of any use. The reason why the calcium says the gecko needs natural light is because vitamin D3 is found in sunlight. Leopard geckos don't need as much D3 as geckos who are awake during the day because they are nocturnal. In the wild, leopard geckos are probably out at sunset and sunrise and absorb the D3 they need. Because of this, some people worry that their gecko will be given too much D3. Your best bet is to get a product like Repashy CalciumPlus or another calcium supplement with D3 and to dust the gecko's feeders every 2-3 feedings so it gets the small amount of D3 it needs to use the calcium.
