my one female was bred by a SHCTB like 6 months ago and didn't show any signs of being pregnant. Now her stomach is getting fatter and she has a pink round thing about the size of a dime developing under the skin. Could she just now be producing eggs or is it normal non of my others have one that i can see?

It was a stud service with a pet shop where we are friends with the owner. they no longer have the male and their breeding program is falling through. So ive been trying to find a male but i can't buy one so i was going to trade the female in question to someone when i find one i like but i want to make sure shes healthy. Oh by the way the SHCTB we think was infertile since they never got a good batch of eggs from him.

It sounds like the female is now ovulating (producing egg follicles). If so, then she may have retined the sperm from the breeding six months ago. Wait a week or two and you will be able to tell if she develops eggs.

Females can retain sperm for about a year, so your chances may be higher then you think.

I have a female that was mated once in January and again 3 months and just now laid fertile eggs last Thursday.
