Hi guys!

I have 2 leopard Geckos that are both male. When i bought them both in December last year, i was told they were both female (they were also named Thelma and Louise). Turns out they are both male. Thelma is 21 months and Louise is 16 months.

Last night, they started fighting and as i don't have another viv, i have for the time being put the aggresive one in a 'plastic travel viv' and i have now put that inside the main viv.

Is there any chance that they won't fight anymore as it would tear my heart out to get rid of one as they were my first Geckos but i also don't like the thought of having one on its own after they have been together for nearly their whole of lives.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks,

Paul

Check out craigslist for a cheap 10 or 20gallon. In the meantime, you could take some cardboard/plexiglass and seal off the current home and divide it in to two sections.

Definitely seperate them. I had to seperate my male and female and at the time didn't have another tank. I took one of the drawers from those plastic drawer sets that come in different colors and put a person heating pad under her. It worked perfectly. Good luck.

Thanks for the help guys. Just wondering if this causes a difference. It's only one that attacks the other. One just seems to sit there and take it/move its head away a little bit. So i guess fighting was the wrong term because the other one doesn't fight back.

Then the term would be "bullying." The more dominant (bigger, by any chance?) is beating up on the subordinate.

Oddly its the younger smaller one that was bullying the older one. I have another viv now. I bought one off ebay luckily and got it home. IK still feel cruel for splitting them up haha

Wouldn't you feel more cruel if you left them in a position to kill each other? Nice idea though getting a second viv for cheap on ebay. Although a 10 gallon is usually only about $10 at least at my local pet store.

Ye i guess. I got an entire setup (viv, 2 hides the same as the other viv, water bowl, log thing and rocks with some fake plants, heatmat, thermostat aswell for £67 which i guess would be around $65) so im happy.

Just throwing this in the pot because of these
comments by you.
All of the posts are assuming you have 2 males.
Is it a possibility you have one male and one female.
What you are describing IMO is not like any
two males together I've seen.
Males fighting I've seen are both ready to
go to the end.
It sounds more like an attempt to breed.
If one has never been fighting.....It's not a fight IMO.
Check it out, if any breeding interests.
Anyway they still need separated.
Take care. HJ
