Hey guys..

so after about 6 bad clutches ... my girl ( first time breeding ) laid her 7th clutch and this time after putting it into the incubator ..it didn't deflate within a few hours ..

Her other clutches before this ..would start to deflate so fast within a couple or hours and mold the day after.. but THIS time it's been 3 days now and the egg is still doing good ( yes I am happy ..it never lasted this long LOL )
but when it was first laid I candled it and there was a red circle about (IIII) big and just a few hours ago - 3 days later i candled it again and the circle because (IIIIIIIII) doubled! big with a few veins inside the circle ..I'm hoping this is a good sign ? LOL the tempt flucscuate ..a bit tho since the weather here is so unpredictable ..it changes from about 86-88 is that..bad? I'm so worried that this one is going to go bad as well..I am using a tempt controller but doesn't seem to help that much..since the tempt moves a bit..

also do you think it's okay to candle it in a week or so to see if there's anymore change inside the egg to see if it's actually fertile? and if the one ends up ..denting and the other one is good can I separate them? just incase the denting one molds..or can I leave it..and not have it affect the other egg ( they are not stuck together )

and after if I open up the container ..should I add a few more drops of water to the perlite...since I'm letting some humidity out buy opening it..or should it be okay?..
Sorry for the long post I'm just so excited !

Try to restrain yourself from candling the eggs or handling them in any way. It's really better to just leave them alone. If you have a container with no holes and have mixed the perlite to water 1:0.8, then you shouldn't have to add any more. It's really hard to wait, but that's the only way to do it. Good luck.

Okay thanks acpart ..I'm going to try and not candle them but it's so tempting to see how much has changed..! so if within a few weeks if they egg doesn't turn bad I can pretty much say it's fertile right? and won't need to candle ..

Ditto on what Aliza said. If an egg is no good, there's nothing you can do to save it. If an egg is good, there's a lot you can do to damage it. Incubate until there's no debate! It will hatch or it won't.
