Months ago I took 127 mealworm Beetles and placed them in a container with oatmeal and carrots. For months I checked the container but NOTHING they refused to breed but I felt bad throwing them out. Since I took the day to clean my feeders I decided let me just throw these beetles out since most had died anyway but surprise, surprise!!! When I looked into the bedding I saw tiny little mealworms!!!! Plus roaches ended having babies!!!

I'm having a GOOD DAY! After months of crappiness!

I had the same problem when I first got mine back in nov/dec I thought I had way to many beetles per container and that they were eating the eggs. However A good while went by then i found them as well. I kept mine at a consistent 78-80 degrees in winter time. RH plays a large factor in the amount of eggs they lay so perhaps that was part of it to.

It can take months for the baby mealworms to show up! Have you tried breeding superworms? I only have 6 superworm beetles, and I have hundreds of worms in a months time! I'm planning to switch from mealworm breeding to superworm breeding from now on!

I like supers a lot more but I was just bored and wanted to try the mealworms because I had 127 beetles under my bed and I felt bad throwing them out, lol. I keep experimenting with feeders soon I'll be overrun with feeders.

I have these new mealworm babies, breeding dubias and I'm considering supers but only have one leo at the moment, lol.. And she's pretty fincky
