My first egg due to hatch seemed to be doing well until last week when it started to shrivel, and then shriveled more than I would expect from an egg ready to hatch. When I felt it there was definitely a body in there but it wasn't squirming. Today I opened the egg and found a fairly well formed dead fetus (don't worry, no pictures). It was smaller than a hatchling and the nose/head wasn't as elongated as I'd expect from a normal hatchling. I don't think it was a problem with the incubation or supplementation and didn't see any obvious abnormalities. Just one of those things, I guess. It would have been my first hybino, too. I can't wait till the next is due to hatch, even though I have to wait 3 more weeks.
