first escape

iv had my gecko escape for the first time last night, he climed up the backing i just put in the tank and got out through the top, im surprised he wasnt hurt as the fall is about 4foot, had a look in the tank and asked the mrs "where the xxxx is the lizard?" never thought leopard geckos were keen on climbing he was sitting behind the tank and didnt want to go back in, poor wee man felt cold

Although they are primarily terrestrial, they do seem to love to climb whatever they can It's okay, yours will be just fine :main_yes: There are stories of people that have geckos that have escaped and were MIA for a few months, but turned out okay. They can be very resiliant when they need to be Our very first hatchling climbed out of his bin and dropped at least 4-5 feet, crawled across the room and was found by a cat trying to grip him under her claws. We found him in time and everything, but boy was he screaming! He didn't get hurt at all, didn't even drop his tail

Ive never had an escapee, but I used to let mine wander around on a small table ~ 2 feet off the ground. That is, until they realized a fall like that won't hurt them, now they look around until they get bored and then jump off...

I had one little guy gone for 3 days......came back when he ran out of meal worm money.......take care. HJ

Yea my girl used to frequently try to escape (succeded twice) untill i moved her to the bigger tank! now to get out she'd have to be one of the x-men to get outta that thing.

so no worries.. as long as you found him! all is good :main_thumbsup:
