YES!!!!! This is my first hatch ever. But I may have to cull it because I can't clearly see if it has eyelids. :(

I think it's a Jungle or Tang Jungle.

In the set up I have him in a 15qt bin, moist paper towels, a hide, a water bowl, calcium dish, and some heat tape? Is this good or should I get her a smaller tub?

Also any more tips on hatchlings would be great!

Congrats on your first hatchling! She looks fat nd healthy, but I do see what you're talking about with the eyes. Were there any temp fluctuations during incubation or was the mother deficient in any vitamins? I would wait a little while before making the culling decision because she looks so healthy otherwise. Gook luck with her and keep us posted!

Thanks also, there was a 1 degree fluctuation so I am going to move my incubator in a closet. I'll see what happens with this hatchling and keep you guys posted. Her clutchmate should hatch any time.

Thanks, I think it's because I had to much fluctuation in the incubator. This hatchling has real eyes, one eye is fine, the other eyelid is deformed. I will wait a week, see how it eats and grows and then I will decide to cull or not.

If she can close her eyes, she'll be fine. If not, you might just need to give her eye drops to keep it moist. I had one born with two eyelid kinks due to temp fluctuations in the incubator during an ice storm and power failure. She turned out okay and was a great eater. Never had any problems closing her eyes, and never got infections.

Good luck! She has a very pretty pattern. The first hatchling is always special :main_yes:

Yeah I know what yeah mean I had too wait 2 weeks to cull ones because the eyes were so tiny.
