My first gravid leo is digging in the laybox. This is especially exciting because last season, as a "rookie" she laid 6 clutches - - -in the water dish. I determined later that, though she was technically old enough and heavy enough, she really hadn't matured. She's gained 20 grams since and really filled out. She's my first gravid leo and seems to be getting it right this time. She's a raptor being bred to a hypo snow stripe het eclipse. Hopefully there will be something to show for this in early April.

Cool deal Aliza! Hope she comes through for you! I got my first leopard gecko "clutch" of the season from my pure Afghan x pure Afghan last week. It was a single egg clutch though…oh well….as long as it's a good one, that's all that counts! It's very exciting when they start digging. I go on "egg watch" like 24/7! LOL! I already had 20 Fat Tail eggs in the incubator before I got a Leopard gecko to kick down!

I got home from work and she had laid the eggs on the floor right next to the lay box! These candled fertile and are in the incubator. I really thought she'd learned from last year.

I will be selling geckos in late spring. Eggs are not for sale. This RAPTOR does make me want to sell her sometimes, but I'll hold off for now.

Congrats Aliza

I'm noticing my geckos are gearing up for breading as well, usually its not for another month or 2 for me in NH. But I think the warm winter we are having this year is playing a part in it.

So far one egg doesn't look so good and the other looks fair. I'm encouraged, though because during the past few weeks I've gotten 2 SW banded gecko eggs and 2 AFT eggs that were laid in fairly dry places and found fairly soon. All of them were dented initially but have plumped up and look as if they'll make it.

The first 2 eggs (that my RAPTOR laid outside the lay box after digging in it for 2 days) went bad, but today after digging for 2 days she actually laid in the box! They're in the incubator now and we'll see how those do. They will be my first 2 leo eggs of the season if they're good (Already have 4 AFT eggs, 7 Coleonyx eggs and 6 Coleonyx hatchlings).
