First Leopard Gecko

Hey, I just got my first leopard gecko last night and he hasn't ate yet. I bought meal worms which is what the pet store said they had been feeding him. He is a year old. And I just had some general questions about him.
1. How can I get him to eat?
2. Should I use carpet or reptile sand?
3. Should I keep his cage out of site from my chameleons cage?

I may have a couple questions further on but right now these are my main concerns.
Thanks,
Sam

Congratulations on your new gecko. Here are my answers to your questions:
1. getting him to eat: give him some time. He's getting used to a new place and may not eat for a few days. It's OK. Just keep offering and be patient.
2. Don't use sand. Use carpet, paper towels or ceramic tile
3. Your gecko won't care about the chameleon so only keep it out of sight if you think the chameleon is being stressed by the gecko

Congratulations on the new addition!

I second all of acpart's recommendation. I like tile the best for substrate

I'm a bit late, But thank you for asking good questions before taking action your self. A lot of people don't know Sand is harmful to geckos, Especially colored sand. Sand gets clogged in there systems, and can get stuck when they try to poo/pee. If hes not eating on the first day its expected because hes been moving around, or moved to a new habitat. If worms don't work switch to crickets.
