First Super from mack ghost x mack ghost, but...:(

It seems he has a very heavy deformity on his left eye....
Right eye seems perfect, he screams, seems pretty strong and acting like any other hatchling.

Any suggestions??? Would it be more humane to put him down? I know this eye can cause future problems even if he does live..

My only gecko of the season with any deformity.... It's very upsetting seeing this, not to mention, he is hatchling 12 and the last from mack ghost x mack ghost, my only super of the bunch.

NS incubator at 89.9... Lowest ive seen it is 89.6 and highest 90.3 and thats pushing it. When it wasnt at target temp it was only for few minutes if that..

I use 3 weeks calcium and 1 week minerall.

I have a leo with an eye like that and she is perfectly fine other thant he eye, I call her Winky.

Other than looks, he should be just fine, disappointing I know but breeding often is just that. Just keep your head up about the good things and the great babeis you have hatched.

I had a little Leo hatch out very much like that one Juan. It turn out fine and had not problems in any way. Breeding it might be questionable you'd not find out if its a genetic deformity any other way do. I don't really think it was caused by temps, for example all my eggs temps and egg container temps where always atleast 1 degree cooler than the incubators ambient temp sometimes as much as 4 with 2 be the average.
You provide the breeders with 3 weeks of calcium and 1 week of mineral all? Thats daily on the week/s its provided? I've heard Mineral all is very strong and potent. What I did is provide pure calcium daily, calcium with vitamin D3 once weekly (for gravide females), herptivite (mulit vitamin) twice monthly, and Mineral All only once a month with the later I wasn't too consistent at times it could have been even less. Maybe your females are getting to much mineral all and not enough vitamins?

I wouldn't put that one down. It's got a good eye, and there is an eyelid on the bad one. I'm sure it would make a great pet for someone.
