Hi there. My name is Emily and I am from Massachusetts, USA. I just brought home my first ever leopard gecko last Thursday and I love her tons already. After doing a bunch of research on different reptiles I came to the decision that the leo was the perfect beginner herp for me.

Her name is Fargo, we are actually unsure if it is a female as she is still too young too tell but I am hoping she is a girl so that I may be able to house her with another female in the future. I really want a blizzard leo.

Fargo has been home for about a week now and is adjusting really well. She's been eating, pooping, she had a successful shed. She is still a little shy but that is understandable. I want to wait a little while longer before I try handling her on a regularl basis.

I have decided to join some leopard gecko forums because I am already starting a slight obsession with leopard geckos. Also I want to learn as much as I can about them so that I can give Fargo the best.

:)

Welcome, and congratulations on your new obsession. I know leopard geckos won me over the second I got my girl. :) Keep in mind that, even if she does end up being female, that doesn't necessarily mean she'll be able to be housed with another female. There are still instances of females dominating each other, fighting, or even killing each other. It's just less likely than with two males. So you can try it once she's older - and many people do have success with it - but keep in mind that it very well might not work out.

Thank you and yes I will definitely do my research before joining two geckos together!! The blizzards are just so beautiful haha I'll get another tank if I have to. Probably would have to move out of my parents first. :)

Emily, welcome to GF and congratulations on Fargo. It is such a relief to see someone do their research before and after getting a pet. It sounds like you have gotten the gecko bug, so you should fit in here good :main_laugh:

On a side note it is very rare for two females to fight to the death. Just make sure when you add any additional geckos that your new gecko is close to the same size and they are feed regularly.

I look forward to seeing some pics of Fargo.

Good choice! They are addicting though! I started with one leopard gecko and now have 10, and 2 of other species. I keep wanting more and more but I'm completely out of space now.
