First time owner

I got hustled lol it's a 20gal tall. The lid is only $9.97 so I guess it's not that bad. I would of liked to have that extra 6 inches of ground space tho.

I'm debating on selling it on craigslist for $20 to cover the price of a new 20long l..

I can't believe I didn't measure the tank lol, I'm such a dummy sometimes. I basically got a 10gallon tank that is tall. I gotta return it tomorrow anyways so I'll get my $10 back. Should of just spent the $35 and got a new 20long with a screen top..

On my way to the pet store to get a real 20long with lid. Wonder if I should pick up anything else while I'm there. Oh yeah calcium and a vitamin For the little guy.

Exo Terra UTH are great in my experience. They don't need a dimmer or thermostat because they don't get as hot as Zoo Med

Well I brought him home today. I have him in the 20gal tal tank. Newspaper for substrate, he is lazy. He was always fed out of a bowl so I will see how he does with crickets later. I have a small rubbermaid container that I cut a hole in the top for a humid
hide. It has spaghnum moss in it.

He won't go in the hide, he is walking around a little. Now I think he is gonna sleep out in the open lol. I don't want to handle him for a few days so he can get use to everything first. I need a cheap hide, do you have any ideas??

He was kept in a rack all his life now he is in a tank and I don't think he likes it lol. He keeps exploring and sliding around on the newspaper. I need a cheap dish for his calcium also. He has two little bowls one with water and the other with his mealworms in it.

He has plenty of room to move around i just need a small hide for his cool side

It's gonna be hard to do it with him being sensitive to light plus I have totake the pic with a iPhone so it won't be that good. How do I upload pics here? Is it thru photo bucket?

i would use a uth and ceramic tile. If a dimmer is needed then get one it is important to keep at right temperature. Also a thermometer with a probe would best determine ground temps. If you choose bulbs make sure to have either a night and day bulb and switch off every 12 hours or so. The other option would be to buy a night bulb(usually red or blueish-purple) and contantly keep on at the appropriate temp.
Sand can cause impaction so use at own risk.

I must be doing good on my husbandry because he is shedding right now and it's
coming off easy. How often do they shed??
I have a uth and I have a accurite digital thermometer, the temps are cool side 79 hot side 93. The hot temp is measured on the glass with a probe under 2 layers of newspaper. The temp stays constant all day and night. I tried to figure out photobucket but I can get it. I will try to use a pc soon so I can post pics of him since he just shed
