ok she hase mated but she hasent eten in 4 days. she ingnors the food and im getting worried. i see the eggs but there small and like pinkish. so she is not going to lay the egg soon. why wont she eat.

my older female hase mated finally but it took a wile. she was walking around wile he was trying to mate then he vibrated his tail and she stood still and then mated. but why did she keep walking.

As I explained VERY thouroughly in a PM, that was completely a joke, and my only point is that just like humans, you can't expect the female to mate right away just because you put a male with her. If any guy goes up to a girl and tries to "mate" with her right away, I promise you she would run too. That's all I was saying. It wasn't anything against you, or anyone in general. I didn't think you guys would get so offended.

The pink spots are most likely ovulation, are they pink and round and about the size of an eraser head near the mid section of the tummy?

Eggs will be larger, oval and white and near the kips.

To answer the original question, 3 of my 4 gravid females are not eating much at all right now and are not on the verge of laying. They all put on quite a bit of weight before I put them together with the males. They are drinking regularly and most likely after they lay they will be pretty hungry. At least that's what happened last season. I don't think you should be too worried at this point.

thank you guys. and the pink spots are more visable and i see small eggs just produsing. my other female the one that was walking around is very chunky but it is hard to see the pinkish spot. hey is it posible for a female to mate but produse no eggs at all?
