I am currently using a store bought under tank heater connected to a thermostat. I notice that the center is much hotter than the rest of the pad. The "hot spot" is not very big and if the probe moves even an inch the temps spike. Will Flexwatt heat tape give me a better overall heat and less of an isolated "hot spot"? Also what size should I use for a 20 gallon long?
