florida key king snake

well it was my step-brother's 10th birthday and my parents got him a snake.
s/he is about 12-14 inches long and is eating about every 3-4days. s/he is in a 10 gallon with 1 inches of aspen for the substrate the warm side temp is around 82-85 and the cool side is around 75 degrees. it has a hide on each side/fake plants and water dish. tell me if im missing anything.

Tank sounds good. Although he will need to upgrade the size

All a Kingsnake really needs (unless its a larger species like a Brooksi) is a 20 Gallon long and they are set.

also about the eating, I was told to stick to once a week feeding, and maybe feed double at one feeding

I know a guy who power fed his snakes and like killed them all from it
