Hi Everyone!

I know there are people from all around the globe on this site, but if you're going to be near Amherst MA on April 17th it’s the day of the 75th Annual Bay State Livestock Classic! It’s at the UMass Hadley Farm.

There'll be Boer Goats, Dorset Sheep, Belted Galloway Cattle, Morgan Horses, Miniature Donkeys, and Huacaya Alpacas! In addition there'll be food, games, raffles, a petting zoo, local farm stands, live animal demonstrations and more! It’s a great community event and fun for all ages! The students will be showing the animals that they've been working with all semester, and the professors will be competing in the professors’ class which is always good for a laugh!

The Livestock Classic will be held from 8:00AM to 5:00 PM with a variety of activities and events occurring throughout the day.

The website is in need of some updating but can be found here: http://www.umass.edu/rso/prevet/Resource_pages/livestock_classic/classic.html
And the school's event page with excellent driving directions can be found here: http://www.umass.edu/umhome/events/articles/99657.php

Also, if you bring a practical item to donate to local animal shelters, i.e. towels, cleaning supplies etc, you will get a free raffle ticket! Limit one raffle ticket per person.

Hope to see some of you there!:main_thumbsup:

Hey Everyone!
Just a reminder that the Livestock Classic is this Saturday!
The show is held in the Indoor Riding Arena at the UMASS Hadley Farm, thus the show will go on rain or shine!
There will be food, games, arts and crafts, raffles, and of course students showing off their animal showmanship skills!
Expect to see the petting zoo, camel, belted galloway cookies (cow shaped frosted cookies, some people were confused by this), hand made glass bead cow and pig necklace and earing sets, pictures from the Classic's 75 year history, and much much more.
Free Parking and Admission! 8AM-5PM
Hope to see you there!
