A heat mat could be used on the table's top. Zoo Med and Exo-terra provide the rubber feet that elevate the tank. Any tank that is using a heat mat should have some air circulation underneath it if it is glass.

As for the grapes, aren't grapes suppose to be toxic to animals, I know that your not suppose to give grapes or raisins to your dog.

If you feel that you must force feed, the best away is the assisted feeding. I use to assist feed one of my males, he was very bad for eating only a few super worms a month, but he weighed 89 grams. I would take a cricket squish it, then rub the cricket against his mouth, he would normally eat it.

Ive had a leo escape his tank and gone awol for 8 months with out food ,and we found him alive and well. A week and half is nothing to worry about. If your temps are between 90 -95 deg he will eat.

First off relax.....How long have you owned leos? Declining appitite is normal in the winter. If your temps are down then give them a boost and he should come back. Skip the force feeding all you might do is injure his jaw and then you'll have an issue to deal with. If hes got a plump tail its not a problem. Remember these guys are from the desert...Hot, low moisture, and their bugs don't come gift wrapped in in vitamin enriched dusts every three days. It might be 3-4 weeks between feedings for them. I see lots of folks worry about their leo not eating/pooping...Do you poop on a regular schedule every day? No they probably don't either. Sometimes you have to sit back relax review your situation and make an informed decision...Going to the vet was a good one but I don't think the one you went to has lots of leo experience and that could be detrimental long term. This site and others like it have TONS of info...Search them out I bet someone here or another site have had similar experiences and they got reasonable and proper advice on how to deal with their leo. I wish you luck and I am not trying to scold you or offend but I see folks who come on and make things sound like its life or death after a week. Just think of their living environments in the wild and how they adapt to them and you should have a long happy life for your leo.....
