Found blood in Leo's feces, any idea anyone?

Just went to get my leo to weigh him and noticed an abnormally large poo - or that's what it looked like from a distance. As I looked closer, I could definitely smell feces but noticed that there was blood in there too.

The feces definitely had blood in it, as I looked closer there was a few bits of mealworm in there too (small pieces). Not too far away from that patch there was some pure blood without feces like he had wiped it off himself.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? There is no cuts to the vent (on the outside at least) but I thought maybe he's not digested his food properly or he was a bit constipated and struggled passing it, maybe cutting himself inside?

I'm totally baffled and wondered if anyone had any ideas? I will be monitoring him tonight especially to see if there's any repeat and will also be watching his behaviour. Please help

Hookworms attach themselves to the lining of the intestines and feed on the blood of the host. This can cause bloody stool. I recommend getting a fecal test done ASAP.

I had the same thing recently with my new leo girl. It was due to superworm ingestion. Rest her GI system by giving her crickets for now. The fecal sample is always a good idea.
