Friends' Gargoyle REFUSES insects

So I've read in books that Gargs usually LOVE insects like crickets and roaches but my friend has a gecko that wont eat them. The garg's name is Bob, and Bob has been exclusively eating Repashy CGD but he only eats a bit of that. The garg is probably 14 months old and maybe 6 inches and pretty small. My friend takes good care of him, but the CGD doesnt seem to be helping him grow. Any thoughts!?! Thanks! (Here's a photo of him)

Some gargs do eat bugs, some don't. Just keep offering and see what happens. How much does it weigh?

He doesnt have an account, but I can tell you that it is a 12x12x18 exo terra tank with tubes to hide in, a cave, water bowl, plants, climbing areas, and eco earth bedding. His gecko doesn't seem sick, just small. Kinda weird. Thanks for the help!
