Is this a red stripe?
And is that a kinked tail I see?

Thanks for the help.

I did a quick search here at GF & came up with this...

"Malnutrition, dehydration and physical trauma can cause a gecko's tail to look like that (refers to another picture, not yours). Correct any potential causes of the first two and do what you can to prevent further trauma and hopefully the condition will not worsen."

If your friend has any questions about how to take care of the gecko, send her/him here & the questions will be answered.

I think she's just considering the purchase from a local breeder.

The breeder says it's occasionally present, but then sometimes not.

Here's an earlier pic of the gecko, seemingly without the kink tail?

If she was going to pay a reasonable price for it, what would be the range?

Thanks

Personally with the kinked-tail it should be sold lower then a gecko w/o a kinked tail ;) $50 and below

I have one that looks similar priced at $50, if it had a tail like that I'd probably have it $20 and insist that it not be bred.

Great thanks for all the input.

I was thinking along the same lines.
The gecko was passed on.

Now just need to find someone who ships to northern Michigan, or wait out this cold snap.
