A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo Only during cleanings and inspections
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now. A bit less movement, licking cloaca area, otherwise normal.
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe.
B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal) Normal, but not dropping cleanly
- When was the last time he/she went Today
C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on
~3 weeks ago, I noticed that gecko was licking cloaca quite frequently, stopped eating for about a week. Upon resuming eating, still was licking cloaca and onto legs and tail. Observed that fecal matter was not always dropping cleanly away and was sticking a bit. Sticking seemed to clear up, but now there seems to be an infection on the scales. Some scales are sloughing away or cracking open to show pink skin underneath.

I've been giving her soaks in warm water, which seems to loosen some of the matter, but I don't want to try and scrape any of it off. I'm worried that if I scrape it off any harder than a gentle rub with wet towel, it will tear open. I'm thinking of using a triple-antibiotic or something similar to reduce chance of infection. Any thoughts before I make an appointment with a vet?

I would say this is out of your hands of treating at home.
I would highly recommend you get this gecko to a vet.

I will start by saying I am not a vet. It does (IMO) look to be some sort of fungal infection/growth. What ever it is... looks pretty bad. Alot of these type of fungal infections (again assuming thats what it is) can come from being in a wet humid environment for an extended period of time.
I would make a vet appointment ASAP. I would also take her out of the enclosure that she is in and completely take it apart and disinfect it along with any decor food/water bowls..... everything. Put her on a paper towel substrate and keep it dry and clean. Keep a humid hide in there with here but keep the paper towels on the floor of the enclosure completely dry. Again I am not a vet but this may help prevent it from spreading more if it is a fungus of some sort.
Take her to the vet and let us know what the outcome is.
