Can anyone relate?

MORNING...

1st:Wake up to the dog/cat making noise...

+0:10: CHECK THE INCUBATOR!!damn..no hatchlings:eek: *slightly raises temp*...

+0:12: Go into 'reptile room' and make sure no snakes escaped..then peek into all the layboxes to see if anyone layed(knowing nobodys due until next week), drop a superworm in front of your favorite gecko, the gecko refuses.*tries to pick it up without getting bit, then throws it back in the gutload tub*

+0:15: make sure all hatchlings have water, also making sure your "super hypo" hatchlings haven't darkend up.

+0:20: weigh all sub-adult females, hoping they're close to breeding size.*also weighs largest male, even though he was weighed two days ago, hoping he is closer to 100 grams...

+0:25: leaves the room, quickly shutting the door so the temp stays warm..

NIGHT.....

..Go in reptile room, turn light on, stare at all of the active geckos/snakes until they crawl back into their hides scince the lights are on...feed all of the feeder bugs/rodents, checking all mouse cages for pinkies, pick out a pink for the most prolific gecko, drop it in her tub (making sure her cagemate doesnt get it, and watch her eat it.
Last, take out your favorite snake and walk it to the rodent cages to see its reaction then put it back in the tub, planning on its next feeding date, so it'll be nice and big for next season. .:main_laugh:

Dont forget to add anything else that we do!

My schedule:

Wake up and walk out our bedroom (immediately enters the gecko area)
1. Check every gecko's tank, peep where they are sleeping, or if they've pooped overnight.
2. Feeling all warm and fuzzy because the geckos are so cute!
3. Check for any shedded roach, if there is one, I'll feed it off to whoever is scheduled to eat on the day. If none, then I'll feed them at night.
4. Make a cup of tea, and geckoforums time.

Evening when I return home, I watch TV, and between the commercial breaks, I'll run to the gecko room and hold my geckos! When I hear the commercial break is over, I return to the TV...lol.

Then I feed them and mist their humid hide before I go to bed, which is around 12.

1. I wake up at whatever time I feel like, usually 4-7 am.
2. Check if the gravid ones laid overnight.
3. Check on Jase, my favorite leo, and avatar. Get superworms tub and feed him with tweezers (does not eat without them) He may or may not eat/
4. Feed everyone else and make sure they are fine and have everything.
5. Get on computer.
6. Go eat, then after eating, I will try to breed geckos that have been refusing to breed all season.
7. Either go somewhere, or stay home. During school year, will be at school at eight and return late afternoon.
8. Check on geckos and feed sugar gliders. Feed Jase, check on gravid leos, and try to breed again.
9. Get on pc...either forums or TV shows.
10. Go to bed.

Wow I wish I had a schedule. The exception is laying season-I check the lay boxes and bator in the morning/night. Other than that-it's feed/water/clean/weigh as time allows during the day. Which usually means at nap time, but not always. I couldn't do everyone at once, it would take too long.

I have an unpredictable work shedule, but usually, its something like this.

Get up and make coffee.
While coffeee is perking, check all inside critters and turn on diurnal lizard lights.
Pull out some rats to thaw.
Start dicing up fresh fruits, greens and such... for the lizards.
Finish waking up the lazy bums and start bath rotations.
Check on snakes in the snake room, shake my head as apparently there was a meeting last night and they decided to sponsor a "poop and smear" campaign. (Nothing like the big group poop from big snakes to get ya goin' in the morning)
Rotate lizard 1 out of the tub, give him his breakfast, clean tub and refill for lizard 2.
Wheres my coffee?
Start cleaning papers, changing waterdishes and bathing big, poopy snakes.
Rotate another lizard.
Get peed on by... someone... (Never the same one twice)
Get bit by another one. (Usually a Savannah)
Become frustrated and drink a cup of coffee.
Check on them at noon. More pee... Change papers.
Check tarantulas have water.
Douse lizards with crickets and mealies for a late afternoon snack.
As the sun goes down, turn off diurnal's lights, handle and feed gecko.
More snakes are waking up. Whomever hasn't pooped, will now. Change papers and handle as many as possible.
Warm up rats and start feeding whomever is scheduled to eat.
With risk of getting bit, changes more papers as atleast half of them have flipped their waterdish in their haste to get that rat.
Yap at Bob the Burmese to "Knock it off!" as he sizes up the dumb cat that has decided to look at him through the glass enclosure door.
Soak the snakes that are in a shed.
Give everyone one more "look over" and love on anyone needing attention.
Give actual children a blank stare when they ask, "Whats for dinner?"
Go to bed exhausted.
Get up the next morning with a big smile on my face, cause I get to do it all again.
(Wouldn't trade this routine for the world)

During breeding season, it gets even more interesting!

I'm not a breeder, but I have several reptiles. This is how it is practically every morning between the hours of 8 and 12.

- Wake up to see that Fonzie and Tess (Bearded Dragon and Turtle) are awake, turn on their lights and give Fonz a rub under his chin. Note that Val has left me a lovely surprise in her food bowl, but happily she has eaten all of her worms.

- Make a cup of tea and turn on the computer. Geckoforums, bearded-dragons, and of course, check the daily deal on woot.com. :D

- See Fonzie looking for his breakfast, dash to the fridge for greens.

- Sprinkle some baby food pellets into Tess's tank. Watch her dance for food. Count number of feeder guppies in the tank.

- Resume computer use.

- Clean up Fonzie's morning poo and along with it, Val's present in the bowl.

- Offer Fonzie life prey. Watch him plow through the masses of insects placed before him.

- Finally, go on to do whatever I have planned for the rest of the day.

Edit:
shake my head as apparently there was a meeting last night and they decided to sponsor a "poop and smear" campaign. (Nothing like the big group poop from big snakes to get ya goin' in the morning)

Oh, and I forgot the weekly game of "Wheres Calvin?"
The ill-tempered Cali King that even though he's in a Critter Cage, somehow manages to get out. We can usually locate him by watching the cat "tip-paw" around a certain area.
I swear, I'm renaming him "Waldo." :main_rolleyes:
