So was looking up about gargs and crested geckos as i like to do in my free time. Thinking they are from same area (New Caledonia), same temp ranges, care.

So here we go I'm going to ask the big question that people always say no too.

Why cant the live together?

Everyone says different gecko species cant be put together. I under stand different area types, different behavior, size, predator prey, etc, etc, etc, etc... But again reading on these 2 animals they sound very similar in every regard. As we know there are a lot of animals in the wild that live together peacefully. SO with the right cage size hiding spots temps why CANT these 2 live in harmony?

I would love to hear some HARD facts. All i can think of is when i go to some Zoos where they have the open jungle cages you can walk through that have several different bird, and monkey species open in a large area living together.

Why not gargs and crested geckos?

I've read on another board about a guy that kept adult cresties and gargs together. He didn't notice any aggression but also had a huge tank with a ton of hiding spots. I've read a lot more posts about them being super aggressive even with other gargs though.

Interestingly enough, when I got my garg from Steve Cemelli of leapinleachies, he said that he has less problems with aggression if he keeps his garg breeding groups under very close quarters. He has most of them in plastic tubs in racks. He did say, though, that the females tend to beat up on the male and the male, when I saw them, did look thinner and more timid.
